Supporting me there gives you access to loads of exclusive stuff, and really helps to support me. Remember, the high quality PDF version of this subclass is avaliable on my patron-only dropbox alongside a bunch of other homebrew stuff (including more Warlock subclasses). The features of this subclass are modeled after a berbalang’s own abilities and lore, mainly giving you utility features for outside of combat. Berbalangs are obsessed with secrets, and they find them by hopping about planes using duplicates of themselves. They don’t have a very high CR (and only have 17 intelligence for some reason, despite being basically immortal, having truesight and being able to speak every language?) but their lore and spectral duplicate ability make them incredibly interesting NPCs nonetheless. Hey guys, sorry for the lack of content lately (life has been throwing me curveballs left and right) but I’m finally back with another warlock subclass!īerbalangs are, in my opinion, one of the most interesting and overlooked monsters that were included in Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get any more spooky content out before Halloween arrives, so if I don’t see you again before the holiday comes, I hope you have a horrifying and/or happy time □ dnd d&d 5e dnd 5e d&d 5e 5e homebrew homebrew dnd homebrew d&d homebrew lycanthrope 5e lycanthrope dnd lycanthrope d&d lycanthrope lovecraft horror dinosaur cocoshomebrew If you want to get access to the PDF of these subclasses or the full lycanthrope class (or just want to support me), please consider pledging to my patreon. Those who choose this curse will be able to take and deal a lot of punishment while they’re on the hunt. The curse of the reptile, meanwhile, turns you into a gigantic scaled beast, and unlike the other curses also makes you an absolute powerhouse. It would obviously work best for those playing a nautical campaign, however most of its features will be invaluable on land as well. This curse turns the lycanthrope into a grotesque horror made of body parts from various sea animals, rather than one specific type of animal like the other lycanthrope subclasses. The curse of the deep is a very Lovecraftian concept which I thought was fitting for Halloween. I’ve decided to release the curse of the wolf publicly despite it being patron exclusive before in order to encourage more people to try the class. So here is the curse of the deep and the curse of the reptile, and for those of you who aren’t patrons, this will also be your first introduction to the curse of the wolf. I released this class back in March with 2 subclasses (the curse of the bat which you can see on the original post, and the curse of the wolf which I’ve included here), but I thought Halloween was a good excuse to make some more. We’re continuing spooky month with a collection of subclasses for my first homebrew class, the lycanthrope. dnd d&d d&d 5e dnd 5e 5e dnd homebrew d&d homebrew homebrew 5e homebrew cleric cleric domain cleric subclass lovecraft eldritch horror If you’re not pledged yet, please consider supporting me on Patreon. If you want to grab a high quality PDF of this subclass, both pages are on my patron dropbox, as well as all my other stuff (including exclusive content and more races and subclasses which are also inspired by eldritch horror, like the Berbalang patron or the Ceremeld). While exploring the idea of the far realm was really fun, another intention of mine with this subclass was to expand the list of ways a cleric can be designed and played, as I often feel they’re too shoehorned into characters which serve benevolent gods rather than deities which are more abstract and incompressible. In the end, I think this subclass (which can ignore regular physics, cause strange mutations in the terrain and can read the minds of others) adequately reflects how messed up the far realm is. To create this subclass, I read extensively into aberrations from various books such as Star Spawn and Mind Flayers which are said to descend from the far realm, in order to get a good grasp of what exactly is the “deal” with the place. All of the features here are inspired by what little we know about that horrible place, the mere sight of which is said to drive people insane. Yet while GOOlock derives power from ancient beings which may or may not come from the far realm, clerics who choose this subclass are definitely drawing their divine power from the far realm. This is only my second ever Cleric subclass, although at first glance I wouldn’t blame you for mistaking it for a Warlock subclass since it shares a very similar vibe with the Great Old One patron. It’s a bit late for Halloween, but this subclass is definitely inspired by eldritch horror.
